About us

The Bible Says aims to enrich your personal bible study, small group, church, or micro-church by providing simple commentary on every verse in the Bible.

We seek to empower laypeople, ministry leaders, and all believers by providing tools that will aid in spiritual growth by improving direct access to the Bible. You will be able to quickly zoom into a verse or verses, then out to see the chapter context, and even further out to see the book and Biblical context.

The word text is derived from the Greek word “Textus,” from which the word “textile,” as in a tapestry, is derived. We see the entire Bible as a lovely tapestry. From the front of a tapestry, you cannot see where each thread connects.

However, we can see from the backside of the tapestry that each thread connects to other parts of the work. Similarly, understanding and studying the Bible as a whole is critical, because each chapter and verse was written with the intention of being read in context. We will provide you with a quick way to follow these tapestry links.

We recommend the following method for getting the most out of Bible study:

Step 1: Pay attention to what is written: “What does this say?” Look through the author’s eyes and listen through the intended audience’s ears. “What would I have heard if I had been there?” ask yourself.

Step 2: Decipher it: “What does this mean?” you may wonder. We have a tendency to start with what we want to hear, then interpret it in a way that confirms our previous conclusions. This tendency will prevent us from hearing what the Bible actually says. The Bible mostly interprets itself; all we have to do is listen.
